Service
In our Baptismal Covenant we promise, “to seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving our neighbor as ourselves.”
ECM provides students with ample opportunities to live out this promise. We regularly cook and serve at Loaves and Fishes soup kitchen in Columbia; we volunteer at Room at the Inn, a homeless shelter supported by Columbia’s interfaith community through the coldest months of the winter; we rake leaves for the elderly in Columbia; and we incorporate service into our spring break plans.
We are exploring options for spring break 2013, which will fall during Holy Week. One possibility is to spend some time in St. Louis, working with two projects in their infancy in the Diocese of Missouri – Magdalene-St. Louis and our diocesan project in Old North St. Louis.
